Ruby's Awesome Description

I think tomatoes don't taste very nice but I think they look COOL!!
They have a deep, brightish colour and a sprout of green on top like a bunch of grass placed right at the top of a grassy, green hill. Maybe if a baby saw a tomato it might think it's a ball and start kicking it around.

Great beginning, Ruby - very impressive!

Finn writes a great description about his dog!

My dog, Scout, has a beautiful chocolate coat. She has a long slim tail and thick blunt teeth.
Scout is very active. She can jump over a one-metre fence if she wants. On the lead she can make me fall over. That makes it hard to catch her. My mum squashes the couch into Scout when she is hiding behind it. She'll have to come out in the end! She is as fast as a cheetah so at night she has to have lots of sleep! She sleeps in a weird way though ..... as if she is walking sideways! She also smells very pooey! Scout likes jumping and playing. When we just got her she was very, very shy. She likes eating meat and chilli sauce but she doesn't like vegetables.
My dog is GREAT!!!

A superb effort, Finn!

Descriptive Colours

Jade wrote a fantastic description based around the colour blue ... I hope you enjoy it.

Blue is the colour of the sky. It's the colour of my uniform and the colour of my raincoat. It's the colour of mt lamp beside my bed that is as soft as feathers. It's also the colour of the book I'm reading at the moment. It is the colour of a bluestick and the colour of my rubber. It's also the colour of my favourite texta and the classroom heater.
Blue feels like the cold, smells like the air and tastes like lollies.
Blue is my favourite colour.
Blue is the colour of me.

Jordan's Fantastic Descriptive Writing

Bing! Bang! Boom went the forest trees when the biggest monster on the island arrived.
The monster is grey and as fast as a rocket and as tall as the mountains. He always growls and dribbles like a pack of dogs.
He hates sardines. He hates them because they are scaly like a python. He just wishes he could have scrambled eggs.
His fur feels like a coffee couch and his legs are scaly. He likes to fish with his hands and they also smell like sardines.

Magnificent effort, Jordan! A really impressive effort.

Still more great writing

The Box
"Wake up, Kelsea!" said Mum.She got up and got dressed for school. Her dress was as blue as a bluebell.
When she arrived at school she did some gardening. She dug a hole as deep as the sea... with a shovel, of course. Suddenly she hit something metallic. She said in a puzzled voice,"What is this?" She didn't show her teacher. She just put it in her school bag and took it home with her.

Kelsea went into her room and played her drums for a while and then she tried to open the box, but it didn't budge. Then she saw a keyhole. She thought to herself, "Why didn't I find a key with it?" The box was as red as blood.
Kelsea went back to school with a shovel on the weekend and started to dig a deep hole. At the end of the hole she saw something glowing as bright as the sun. She pulled and it came out.
Kelsea took it home and stuck it in the keyhole. The box opened. It was bright as the moon. When the bright light faded away she looked inside and wondered what it was. She looked again and saw that it was a book about Egypt and the Egyptians. Kelsea giggled, "This was a good find". She sat down and read it and then buried it for someone else to find.

More Great Writing

Recently we've been trying to write more descriptively and yesterday Rylan completed the following outstanding effort. Enjoy!

Wolfman is a new evil villain. He is half-wolf, half-man. His fur is as soft as a pillow. His growl is as loud as thunder. His teeth are sharper than needles and his claws are as painful as 100 000 wasps stinging you. His eyes shine like red rubies and he can hear 90 times better than a human can. He eats you whole.
His tail is so dangerous it could break your head with one slash across your face. His bones are as hard as titanium. He is as tall as a flagpole, fast as the speed of light and he looks like Bigfoot when he stamps his foot because the whole world shakes. If you're in the country when he stamps his foot you will die.
He also smells like mouldy old socks.

Welcome 3R

We've been doing some great writing lately..... here's a few examples:
One cold misty morning there was a smart girl that always rode to school on a scooter. When she was close to a pole she saw her friend, Maddie. She forgot to stop the scooter and .... BANG! She banged her head. She could see Maddie running up to me with her phone and hear her finger rattling all over the phone trying to call 000. She touched the blood running down her face and smelled smoke coming from the ambulance truck. She could also taste the blood dripping into her mouth.
She walks to school now ... it's safer that way.

Most kids go on buses, trains, cars or bikes to school. First I tried going on a bike but a car smashed into me. Next, my mum drove me to school but she crashed into a garbage bin. I smelled the smelliness of the bin. I touched the yucky garbage. I tasted disgusting banana peels and felt the sliminess of the snails inside the bin. I also heard the bins being knocked down. That's why i walk to school now .... it's safer that way.

I used to ride my skateboard to school but once I stumbled over a rock and broke the axle. I wobbled and stumbled over another one and fell off. Bang! I was badly hurt and could not get up. I could taste nice sweet blood and smell some sparks in the sky. I could also hear the wheel that came off the broken axle rolling along the park.
I walk to school now. It's safer that way.
